Having built their e-commerce website last year, we couldn’t wait to get stuck into the latest project for promotional merchandising company ID&C.
The company had tall plans: They were looking for an innovative wristband designer tool which allowed customers to design their own security wristbands online from scratch, before making a bulk order on ID&C’s site all in one sitting. The tool needed to be clean, simple to use and confidently reflect the youthful and upbeat culture of ID&C’s business.
Many of ID&C’s customers search for wristbands in the evening outside of typical office hours. Our new Flash tool streamlines the entire wristband purchasing process, meaning users can conveniently build their design from scratch and order online in five concise steps without the need to telephone ID&C during office hours.
Throughout the design process a large visual display of the ‘design in progress’ is on the screen at all times, and any changes made to the wristband are done in real-time. On top of that, each stage of the design process is numbered, meaning you can skip or revisit previous steps at any time in order to make amends.
You begin by choosing one wristband style from a range of options, before selecting the wristbands' base and text colour using the colour palette supplied. Once a style is chosen you move on to the layout of the design, where you can choose from one of several text / logo layout templates available.
Once you’ve selected your desired template, you enter your copy into a text field which automatically shows up on the wristband as you type. A rich text editor allows you to add additional styles / change the text font, as well as align the copy to the left or right or increase/decrease it in size or height.
A logo can also be added to the wristband, either taken from ID&C’s image gallery or by uploading a company logo to add a personalised touch. Again, you can increase / decrease the logo’s size or height and align it accordingly.
We also added a serialisation option, which if required prints a unique number on each individual wristband ordered.
Once you complete your design you add it to your basket. Here, you can confirm your order quantity as well as view the individual unit, logo and serial charges and total amount payable.
The last checkout page displays a preview of your completed design, as well as the order quantity and total price. Underneath you have the option of placing your order, re-ordering a wristband from a past order, creating a new wristband from scratch or creating a new wristband from your last design.
When an order has been placed ID&C receive an order notification, along with an image of the customers' wristband design. The order can then be created by printing off the design before dispatching it to the customer.
