Cats Protection: Purrr-fect

30-Mar-2010
Several weeks ago we let you in on some very exciting news indeed as we announced the much-anticipated launch of a new website for the Cats Protection charity.

The website overhaul was commissioned to address a number of limitations the charity’s old website had - the online donation process was long-winded and complicated, users found navigation around the website frustrating, and the overall site design was dated.

Our hard work certainly paid off as the Cats Protection was absolutely thrilled with the finished result:

"We’ve been delighted with MCM Net’s response to our brief for a new website and fresh online functionality. They worked very closely to our original brief but always offered other solutions and thoughts at every stage of the project which meant our new sites have been developed further and to a higher standard than we could have hoped for. Their can do attitude helped us to iron out some last minute changes which we had imposed on them and they were very approachable and helpful throughout the project - we’d have no hesitation in recommending them."

Positive Praise

Everyone knows that end user opinion is paramount when it comes to building a fantastic website, and the new Cats Protection website has had plenty of it.

Since its launch it has been featured on several websites including Net Imperative, The Drum and Creative Match, and the charity’s Facebook and Twitter pages have been buzzing with some great comments about the site, including, “Love the new website, looks fresh and up to date”, “It's great! I especially like the Cats for Kids site with all the hidden extras”, and “the layout is lovely, everything is big and readable which I also like”.

On top of that, a recent website review from not-for-profit publication Third Sector magazine rated the website a whopping 16/20:

"The website looks fresh and uncluttered, with clear type and the animations it uses are bold, making navigation easy and information easily accessible."

Web User Magazine also reviewed the website, giving it a thumbs-up and scoring it an impressive 4/5. They describe it as:

"A vast improvement, presenting a wealth of content in an easily accessible manner. All the vital elements of a charity site – information about its work, an invitation to get involved and an option to donate – are all present and correct, but it’s the extra features that really impress. These include downloadable guides about cat care, a vet-search facility and a section aimed at kitty-loving kids."

Now that’s what we call a purr-fect result!
