It’s National Epilepsy Week this week (13th June – 19th June) and to mark the occasion we’ve developed an iPhone app for The National Society for Epilepsy. The awareness week hopes to educate younger people about how to help someone suffering from a seizure, and is potentially a life saver for your pocket, packed with information so that users can act quickly if someone were in need of help.
Features include advice on when to call 999, facts about seizures, first aid guidance, epilepsy information, charity details, a donate option and charity contact information. Another useful section is a clear step-by-step guide of photos which show you how to put the patient into the recovery position.
We also made sure users could easily access the information in an emergency even if they don’t have a phone signal.
Amanda Cleaver, Communications Manager at The National Society for Epilepsy said, “We are very pleased with the app MCM has developed for the National Society for Epilepsy. It was developed and delivered within a very short time scale and on deadline. MCM quickly grasped what we wanted to achieve and made some very good suggestions along the way”.
Although the app only went live on Friday, it’s already received press coverage from Mobile Choices, PC World, Nursing Times and many more.
